Living in La Mesa
While every town has “good” and “bad” areas, La Mesa strives to keep their residents of their community safe. For example, they participate in Safe Routes to School (SRTS), a federal, state and local initiative designed to enable and encourage all children to walk to school. The program kicked off in 2009 and partners with local law enforcement and parents to ensure children get to school safely. This makes La Mesa real estate perfect for families with children.
If your whole family enjoys walking—not just to school, but on the weekends too— check out the many walking routes that can be found in La Mesa, ranging from beginner to advanced. Depending on what route you take, you may want to stop at Mount Helix or La Mesita Park for a rest and snacks. The neighborhood is home to more than 10 parks total, so don’t worry if those three aren’t near or easily accessible to you. You can see a map of every park at LaMesaParks.org.
This neighborhood has just as many parks as it does schools, with seven elementary schools alone. There are also a number of private schools, and a charter school, giving you plenty of education options to choose from. There are also three middle schools, two high schools and three K-12 schools.
As you can see, La Mesa real estate has much to offer homebuyers looking to start or raise a family. With plenty of parks, easy access to highways and fun activities for everyone, this up-and-coming neighborhood is worth checking out.
