This exciting event hosts over 300 bodysurfers. Unlike regular surfing, these skilled contestants will ride the waves without any assistance from a buoyant device. With only swim fins and wetsuits, they will become one with the ocean and wow the crowd.

2. Latin Food Fest

Sitting just north of the Mexican border, San Diego adopts much of the beautiful Latin culture. Experience and celebrate this at the Latin Food Fest at Marina Park on August 16th and 17th.

3. The TVG Pacific Classic

On August 22nd, one of Southern California's most important horse races kicks off at 11:30 am at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club. Due to COVID restrictions spectactors won't be permitted on the premises but you can still watch the event online which you can access here

This event only races horses three years and older and carries stakes of $500,000. Simply login online to participate in one of the richest and most prestigious races and enjoy a day at the races from the comfort of your home or backyard. 4. San Diego International Kids' Film Festival

Are you looking for places to be with the family? Check out this year's International Kids' Film festival.

Usually from August 23rd to August 25th due to the COVID Pandemic the event could potentially be postponed to Oct-Nov 2020, keep an eye on updates via sdkidsfilms.org. Mark your calendar and Celebrate cinematography with filmmakers from Countries in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.

Party at the gala on opening night, attend culture forums, get a sneak peek of independent films, and more. The event takes place at the Schulman Auditorium Carlsbad Senior Center Howard Burbeck Theatre.

5. San Diego Spirits Festival

Looking for a little grownup fun? On August 24th and 25th, head out to the 12 annual San Diego Spirits Festival.
