Last year, Bruce and Cindy Osmun hired the Steele team to help them buy an investment property in San Diego. The deal went so well for the Boulder, CO. couple that they asked Melissa and John to help them find a second home in California.

This time, the house wasn’t just an income stream — the Osmuns were looking for their dream home, and they found it in Mission Bay.

Because they were out of state, the Steeles used state-of-the-art technology like 360-degree video walk-throughs and video tours to involve them throughout both of their San Diego home searches.

With the help of technology like the virtual tours, Bruce and Cindy viewed properties, asked questions, and found the perfect California homes to suit their needs — all without leaving Boulder. 

In both instances, the Osmuns put in offers on the homes without ever stepping foot inside. It was only after the offers were accepted that they visited San Diego to see their new new home in person. 

With their Mission Bay condo, the Osmuns saw it for the first time during the home inspection, and confirmed their belief that this was their dream home.

But then, two days before the deal was supposed to close, the Osmuns’ came up against some major hurdles. In the 11th hour, their bank told them they couldn’t finance their loan, and they had to come up with a larger down payment— or get stuck with a higher interest rate on the $1.44 million property.

“The deal could have fallen apart if not for John and Melissa’s negotiating and problem solving,” Cindy said.

John and Melissa negotiated extra time to complete the deal, and worked with the couple to find solutions. The Osmuns, hesitant, initially asked the Steeles to start the cancellation process. But in the end, Bruce and Cindy couldn’t let go of their dream home.

The sale closed successfully, and the Steeles helped the Osmuns find a property manager who could rent the condo until they moved to San Diego the following year.
